Marine biology is the scientific study of the plants, animals and other organisms that live in the ocean.
- Fish
- Fish are aquatic vertebrates that are typically cold-blooded; covered with scales, and equipped with two sets of paired fins and several unpaired fins.

- The crustaceans are a large group of arthropods, comprising approximately 52,000 described species , and are usually treated as a subphylum .They include various familiar animals, such as lobsters, crabs, shrimp, crayfish and barnacles.

- A marine mammal is a mammal that is primarily ocean-dwelling or depends on the ocean for its food.

- Until recently seaweeds were described as simple plants that grew in the sea, but scientists now consider that the structure and chemistry of seaweeds is so distinctive that they warrant their own classification.
