Specialised Craft and Equipment Manufacturing and Repair Careers

People working in specialised craft and equipment manufacturing and repair may produce or repair of specialist goods, machinery or equipment. This may include jewellery, musical instruments, optical instruments or sporting equipment.
Biomedical Technician (Mechanical and Electronic)
Biomedical technicians maintain complex mechanical and electronic medical equipment in hospitals and other health sector institutes. They may also make, modify or repair specialised clinical accessories, surgical instruments and surgical implants.
Cabinet Maker
Cabinet makers make and repair furniture for homes, businesses and boats.
Furniture Finisher
Furniture finishers prepare the final surface of items of furniture and apply stain, lacquer, paint, oil or wax.
Jeweller
Jewellers design, make, alter and repair items such as rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings.
Monumental Mason
Monumental masons carve or sandblast designs or letters into decorative granite or marble blocks called memorials, and set the memorials in place.
