Libraries and museums work may involve; collecting, organising and looking after library materials, helping people research and access information, collecting, organising, and storing items of cultural or historic value, preserving and interpreting works of art and creating displays of cultural materials for the public.
- Archivist
- Archivists appraise, organise, store and provide access to records and documents of long term historical or research value. They also provide advice and assistance about archives to individuals and organisations.
- Art Historian
- Art historians study and write about works of art. They may also deliver lectures on art history, advise on art, look after historical and contemporary art collections, and research and present exhibitions.
- Conservator
- Conservators ensure the long-term preservation of art and artefacts by preventing their deterioration and repairing damage.
- Curator
- Curators develop, maintain, research and exhibit collections for museums, art galleries and artists.
- Exhibition Technician
- Exhibition technicians prepare, install, maintain and dismantle museum or art gallery exhibitions.
- Historian
- Historians research, write and present information about events and people of the past and present. They may also teach history.
- Librarian
- Librarians collect, organise and look after library materials, and make them available to library users. They may also answer specific requests for information.
- Library Assistant
- Library assistants carry out a variety of tasks needed to help run a library including organising material and helping library users.
- Records Officer
- Records officers organise and track documents and records for businesses and other organisations. This includes creating, retrieving and filing records such as correspondence and reports.
