Air Transport Careers

Work in air transport jobs may include; piloting aircraft, customer service work, air traffic control aircraft maintenance, loading and refueling.
Aeronautical Engineer
Aeronautical engineers provide technical support and approved technical data for use in the repair, maintenance and modification of aircraft.
Aeroplane Pilot
Aeroplane pilots fly aircraft carrying people or goods.
Agricultural Pilot
Agricultural pilots fly aircraft to apply agricultural chemicals or fertiliser to farm land.
Air Traffic Controller
Air traffic controllers direct the safe and orderly movement of aircraft while they are flying, landing, taking off and taxiing.
Aircraft Engineer
Aircraft engineers maintain and repair the engine, body, cabin, systems, wings, and other parts of aircraft.
Aircraft Loader
Aircraft loaders load and unload aircraft, and transfer freight, baggage and passengers between airport buildings and aircraft.
Aircraft Refueller
Aircraft refuellers fill aircraft with fuel at airports.
Avionics Engineering Tradesperson
Avionics engineering tradespeople maintain and repair an aircraft's electrical, instrument and radio systems.
Check-in Agent
Check-in agents check passengers onto flights and ferry crossings, take their tickets and luggage, and give them boarding passes, or assist them to use self-check systems. If they work in an airport, they may also meet and dispatch aircraft.
Flight Attendant
Flight attendants make sure that passengers travelling in aeroplanes are safe and comfortable.
Flying Instructor
Flying instructors teach people how to fly aeroplanes, helicopters or other aircraft.
Helicopter Pilot
Helicopter pilots fly helicopters carrying people or cargo.
