People working in road transport jobs may; operate machines and vehicles, transport people or goods locally or nationally and teach others how to operate vehicles. They may work in many industries, such as manufacturing, building, tourism, forestry, agriculture or horticulture.
- Bus Driver
- Bus drivers drive buses with passengers along a set route.
- Chauffeur
- Chauffeurs drive passengers to the places they wish to go, making sure that passengers and their luggage get there safely.
- Courier
- Couriers collect and deliver messages, packages and other goods and materials by light truck, van, car, motorcycle, bicycle or on foot.
- Driving Instructor
- Driving instructors teach practical and theoretical driving skills to clients.
- Fork-Lift Operator
- Fork-lift operators operate vehicles that have a lifting platform for shifting and stacking heavy articles such as pallets (portable platforms used for storing and moving cargo), bales, crates, containers or cartons.
- Heavy Truck Driver
- Heavy truck drivers drive trucks with or without trailers. They transport materials, livestock, machinery, liquids, general freight, and sometimes hazardous substances.
- Taxi Driver
- Taxi drivers drive cars or vans and charge passengers fares to take them from one place to another.
- Tour Coach Driver
- Tour coach drivers drive a tourist or long-distance coach and escort tourists and local people on sightseeing, educational or other tours. Some tour coach drivers may describe points of interest to passengers.
- Tow Truck Operator
- Tow truck operators drive and operate a truck to tow vehicles that have broken down, been damaged or illegally parked.
